Can Bull Carpentry Building & Construction organise other trades?

Yes, our team is made up of licensed carpenters, builders, electricians, plumbers, water proofers, cabinet makers and tilers and all required trades to complete your project professionally and to QBCC licensing standards.

Can Bull Carpentry Building & Construction organise certification for building approval and engineering?

Yes, we can organise, advise, liaise and consult on your behalf for your project.

Are Bull Carpentry Building & Construction insured and licensed?

Yes, we are professional tradespeople and hold all appropriate licences and insurances and are QBCC registered. We can arrange home warranty insurance from the QBCC for your peace of mind.

Do you require full or part payment upfront?

We will take a small deposit of 5 – 10% on order of our service. Then as the project progresses you will make progress payments as outlined within the agreed contract. On completion of all works, remaining payment is required in full within 14 days.

What is your usual turnaround time for completion?

This will depend on the size of the project and dependent on materials being obtained, this would be negotiated at the start of project discussions.

How will Bull Carpentry Building & Construction ensure safety and tidiness during the project while we are living/working at the property?

We ensure that safety standards are followed during working days. We use all approved safety equipment and practices. Areas fenced off, use of signage and PPE where appropriate. After each day the area will be cleared, cleaned, swept and vacuumed and all rubbish removed, or waste management system used.

How can I ensure that I am getting the best price for my building project?

It is important to make sure that if you are comparing quotes from builders that they are all quoting on the same items.

Some builders might under quote on various fittings or contingencies in order to appear cheaper. Take the time to go through quotes line by line in order to make sure the details are all the same.

How can I communicate with my builder during the construction phase?

At Bull Carpentry Building & Construction, we believe in regular and honest communication with our customers.

We will conduct regular site meetings throughout the build, as well as phone calls and/or email as work progresses.

We are happy to include your architect and yourself in all communication.

Do I need an architect for my project?

This is a matter of personal preference, but at Bull Carpentry Building & Construction we generally work on projects that require engineering and building certification and council approval so they will need professional skills and expertise in order to make sure they meet the required building codes and standards. Well-drawn and detailed plans will save you money and stress in the long-term. Take the time to choose an architect who understands you and your requirements – it’s important to have a good relationship with your chosen professional.

Will I need to move out while my renovation is being completed?

This can vary according to the scope of the building project, but most owners find that the noise, mess and disruption of a build makes it very difficult to remain in a house while extensive work is being done. In addition, a building project will often be completed more quickly and cheaply if the house is vacant during the build.
